Housing Needed for National Lakeshore’s Summer Employees

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on Jan. 10, 2012. It is reproduced in full below.

INDIANA DUNES NATIONAL LAKESHORE: The National Park Service is in serious need of short-term housing near Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore for the summer's seasonal workforce of park rangers, guides, maintenance workers, and research aids, according to Superintendent Constantine Dillon.

"Many of our summer employees experience difficulty in finding suitable short-term housing. Most of these employees are either college students or just starting their careers and have limited budgets. Many apartment owners will not lease or rent for less than six months or a year. We are looking for temporary, (two to six months), housing, preferably furnished apartments or rooms with cooking privileges," said Dillon

Persons interested in receiving referrals for summer renters from Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore should contact Administrative Program Assistant Bill Martin, at 219-395-1751.
