War in the Pacific National Historical Park invites the public for a special Movie in the Park program on Saturday, January 28 at 6 p.m.
Back by popular demand; join us for an outdoor screening of the classic "No Man is an Island," which dramatically portrays the suspenseful struggle of U.S. Navy Radioman George Tweed. The film highlights the relationship built between Chamorro families and Tweed, the lone American survivor on Guam during the Japanese occupation. To many, Tweed became a symbol that America would return, but to others, the punishments and executions inflicted on Chamorros who helped him caused enmity and indignation. Was protecting Tweed worth the sacrifice?
All park programs are free and open to the public. The public is encouraged to bring chairs, blankets, flashlights, umbrellas, and insect repellant. In the event of inclement weather, the program may be delayed or cancelled. For more information, call 333-4050.
