Jane Dornbusch, a writer for the Boston Globe recently attended and wrote about "Ode to Fat," part of the Lowell Folklife Series presented by Lowell National Historical Park. The Lowell Folklife Series presents free public events throughout the year featuring traditional craft, music, dance, and foodways. The series is curated by folklorist Maggie Holtzberg, who draws from over a decade of folklore field research within Massachusetts many diverse communities. Ongoing field research continues, with the goal of supporting, promoting, and building cross-cultural appreciation for the expressive traditions of a diverse populace.
