Photography Workshop at National Lakeshore

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on May 18, 2012. It is reproduced in full below.

INDIANA DUNES NATIONAL LAKESHORE: Photographers are invited join a free workshop at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, May 26 at the Paul H. Douglas Center for Environmental Education in Gary to learn helpful tips for shooting the tricky sand dunes and lake landscapes. Geared especially towards teens but open to photographers of all ages, this program will be presented by local, award winning photographer John Roquet of the Imagemakers Photo Club.

Participants should bring their digital cameras for some outdoor photo practice and get advice on improving that perfect shot. Photographers will be able to print their favorite photo and make a photo frame to take home.

As always, free refreshments will be on hand while you take in your fellow photographers' work. This weekend, the normal business hours of Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. are expanded to include Sundays 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.; and these hours continue through Labor Day weekend.

The Douglas Center is located at 100 North Lake Street in the Miller section of Gary, Indiana. For more information on this or other programs at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, visit the park website at www.nps.gov/indu/planyourvisit or contact our information desk at 219-395-1821.
