Wright Brothers Facility Temporarily Closed

Superintendent Mike Murray announces the temporary closure of the Wright Brothers National Memorial pavilion building due to recent flooding conditions as a result of heavy rains from Tropical Storm Beryl.

On May 30, 2012, the Pavilion complex and surrounding areas received over 5 inches of rain in a short period of time.The flooded grounds quickly seeped into the Pavilion auditorium and exhibit area of the Pavilion soaking the carpet and floors.All exhibits have been removed to safeguard and preserve them.The Wright Brothers Visitor Center and adjacent parking and grounds remain open to the visiting public.

The Pavilion will remain closed until renovation work is completed which is expected to be in two to four weeks.
