Fire Island Lighthouse 11th Annual Art Show

The Fire Island Lighthouse opened its 11th Annual Art Show on Thursday, June 21, unveiling a wide range of original art work for sale. The exhibition will run through July 15, and is available for viewing during regular hours of operation.

For 2012, 83 local artists from Brooklyn to Riverhead entered a total of 144 pieces of original art for the show. Artist donate 30% of the sale to the Fire Island Lighthouse Preservation Society.

This is one of several fundraising activities of the Fire Island Lighthouse Preservation Society. The Society operates the lighthouse under a cooperating agreement with the National Park Service, and has a long history of support for the Fire Island Lighthouse. The Society celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2012.
