The National Park Service has selected Fire Island National Seashore as the featured park in its weekly National Park Getaway series. Every week, one of the 397 units of the National Park System is highlighted. With the start of the summer beach season and the celebration of the Fourth of July, what park could be more appropriate this week. Fire Island National Seashore includes miles of undeveloped beaches, quiet nature trails and wilderness, bustling marinas, and even the home of a signer of the Declaration of Independence.
