Lakebed Campfires Banned at Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on July 13, 2012. It is reproduced in full below.

In accordance with the 2012 Superintendent's Compendium, Acting Superintendent Natalie Gates has banned campfires on the exposed lakebed until Sept. 30, 2012.

Campfires in park-provided fire grates at developed campgrounds are allowed. The use of gas and propane barbeques and self-contained stoves is allowed.

Campfires are never allowed on the beach area above the exposed lakebed.
