Public is Invited to Flight 93 Advisory Commission Meeting July 28, 2012

Somerset, PA - A meeting of the Flight 93 Advisory Commission will be held on Saturday July 28, 2012 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. The meeting is open to the public, and will be held at the Somerset offices of Flight 93 National Memorial: 109 W. Main Street, #104, Somerset, PA 15501.

The purpose of the meeting is the review events and developments related to Flight 93 National Memorial since the previous meeting in May 2012. The meeting will include reports on communications, interpretive planning, land acquisition, memorial design, fundraising, and National Park service activities.

Congress authorized the establishment of a federal commission to assist the Department of the Interior and the National Park Service with the formulation of plans for a permanent memorial to honor the passengers and crew of Flight 93. Phase 1 of construction is now complete and was dedicated on Sept. 10, 2011. The permanent memorial is now open for visitation.
