On Saturday Sept. 15, 2012, Lake Roosevelt National Recreation area will host participants in the Grand Columbian Triathlon at Spring Canyon. Beginning at 6 a.m., 250-350 participants will swim one of four different swim courses set up at the Spring Canyon day use area and then will start the cycling leg of the event, traveling up Spring Canyon Campground Road to State Route 174. The swimming portion should be completed by 12 Noon.
The Spring Canyon boat launch ramp will remain open during the race, but please use caution if you are operating a vehicle in the area. Expect traffic delays on Spring Canyon Campground Road. Law enforcement and event organizers will be providing traffic control both on and off the water.
