KEYSTONE, SD: Beginning Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, facilities at Mount Rushmore National Memorial will transition into fall hours.
The last evening lighting ceremony of the season will be held Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012 at 8:00 pm local time. The sculpture will be lit at dusk for one hour nightly through the fall months. The Lincoln Borglum Visitor Center and Information Center fall operating hours will be 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Sculptor’s Studio will be open from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm through Oct. 14, and will then close until next year.
Also beginning Oct. 1, the concessioner, Xanterra, will begin fall hours in the Carver’s Café 8:00 am to 5:30 pm until October 10. October 11 through October 24 the Carver’s Café will operate from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Gift shop hours will be from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm until October 10. October 11 through October 24 the gift shop will operate from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm.
Mount Rushmore parking concession will also be adjusting their hours beginning Oct. 1, continuing to open at 7:30 am, and closing at 5:00 pm.
