Road Construction Foxville-Deerfield Road October 17-November 16, 2012

Travelers may experience periodic delays and one-way traffic due to road construction along approximately.78 mile of Foxville-Deerfield Road from the northern boundary of Catoctin Mountain Park to the Owens Creek Campground entrance from 7:00 am until 5:00 pm, Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012 until Friday, Nov. 16, 2012. The construction project includes removal and replacement of pavement sections and reconstruction of drainage ditches and culverts. Matthews Contracting Co. of Purcellville, VA is performing the work. Foxville-Deerfield Road will remain open during the project and delays are expected to be of short duration.

Catoctin Mountain Park is one of nearly 400 units administered by the National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior. The Visitor Center, located on State Route 77 three miles west of Thurmont, Maryland, is open daily from 10:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., and from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
