Fire Island National Seashore is offering a wide variety of guided tours and lectures this fall. From mid-October through December, several favorite seasonal programs are scheduled again at the Fire Island Lighthouse, William Floyd Estate, and Wilderness Visitor Center, along with several new programs.
Ranger-guided Walks and Tours
You can get outdoors and join a park ranger for several guided walks. Some of these free programs begin at Robert Moses State Park Field #5, and end at the Fire Island Lighthouse:
* Oct. 21, 10 am - Noon:
* Oct. 27, 3 - 4:30 pm: (starts at the Lighthouse terrace)
* Nov. 3, 1 - 2:30 pm: !
Several walks are planned around the grounds of the William Floyd Estate:
* Oct. 20, 10 - 11:30 am: Old Mastic Architectural Tour
* Oct. 27, 10 - 11:30 am: Documents in Stone
* Nov. 3, 10 - 11:30 am: Colonial Uses of Wood
* Nov. 10, 10 - 11:30 am: Cultural Landscape Walking Tour
* Nov. 18, 9 - 11:30 am: Late Autumn Old Mastic Bird Walk
Lectures and Guest Speakers
Several illustrated programs will be offered indoors in November and December. At the Patchogue-Watch Hill Ferry Terminal (150 West Avenue in Patchogue, New York):
