On Nov. 2, 2012, the University of Massachusetts in Boston hosted "Critical Conversations: The State of History in the National Park Service." NPS interpreters, historians, and their colleagues reflected on the Organization of American Historians' 2012 report, Imperiled Promise: The State of History in the National Park Service, which critically examines the state of history in National Parks.
