Public is Invited to Flight 93 Advisory Commission Quarterly Meeting
Somerset, PA - The quarterly meeting of the Flight 93 Advisory Commission will be held on Saturday February 9, 2013 starting at 10:00 am. The meeting is open to the public, and will be held at the Somerset offices of Flight 93 National Memorial: 109 W. Main Street, #104, Somerset, PA 15501.
The purpose of the meeting is to review events and developments related to Flight 93 National Memorial since the previous meeting in November 2012. The meeting will include reports on communications, interpretive planning, land acquisition, memorial design, fundraising, and National Park Service activities.
Congress authorized the establishment of a federal commission to assist the Department of the Interior and the National Park Service with the formulation of plans for a permanent memorial to honor the passengers and crew of Flight 93. Phase 1 of construction is now complete and was dedicated on Sept. 10, 2011. The permanent memorial is now open for visitation.

About the Memorial
Flight 93 National Memorial is a tribute to the passengers and crew of United Flight 93 and is a place to explore and discover their inspiring story of courage and hope. A 3.5 mile scenic drive leads visitors from the entrance at US Route 30 to the Memorial Plaza at the crash site where visitors may view panels in an outdoor exhibit area and learn more through cell phone tours; talk with Park Rangers and volunteer Ambassadors; view the field where Flight 93 crashed which is the final resting place of the passengers and crew; and walk along the Wall of Names. The memorial is open from 9:00 am-5:00 pm (last entry at 4:30 pm) through the winter. There is no admission fee to visit the memorial. www.nps.gov/flni
