Off-Trail Guided Hikes in March at Petrified Forest National Park

Petrified Forest, AZ-A series of off-trail guided hikes will be offered Wednesdays and Sundays in March to celebrate Arizona Archeology and Heritage Awareness Month and will showcase Petrified Forest's cultural resources. Each hike is up to three hours and up to 3 mi (4.8 km) round trip. Come ready to learn about past peoples of Petrified Forest in a great outdoor classroom setting!

These hikes are not accessible and are over uneven terrain. Exposure to elements may include mud, ice, cold weather and the sun, wear appropriate layered clothing and footwear, and bring food and water.

The normal entry fee into the park applies. Hike locations are subject to change based on conditions and weather. The hike is open to the public but numbers of people is limited because of the sensitivity of the archeological sites.
