BODY RECOVERED AT LAKE MOHAVE, AUG 11
BOULDER CITY, Nev. - The body of an adult male was recovered from Lake Mohave Aug. 11 in the area where a North Las Vegas man went missing Aug. 4. The Clark County Medical Examiner will verify the individual’s identity and cause of death.
Around 6 a.m. Aug. 11, the Lake Mead National Recreation Area Interagency Communication Center received a call from a park visitor reporting he located a body floating on the surface of the lake near Cottonwood Cove. Park rangers recovered the body.
Witnesses said Donald Soun, 23, disappeared underwater Aug. 4 about a mile north of Cottonwood Cove after he went for a swim. They said he was not wearing a lifejacket.
The National Park Service, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Search and Rescue and Nevada Department of Wildlife conducted multiple surface and underwater searches for the missing man.
The National Park Service advises wearing a U.S. Coast Guard approved personal flotation device at all times while in the water regardless of the water depth.
