WEST GLACIER, MONT. - Public scoping comments for the Going-to-the-Sun Road Corridor Management Plan and Environmental Impact Statement are due by Friday, September 6.
Glacier National Park has begun a multi-year planning effort to address transportation and visitor use issues within the Going-to-the-Sun Road corridor. The corridor management plan will develop a range of alternatives to address management of visitor use and experience, congestion, protection of natural and cultural resources within the corridor, and long-term financial sustainability of the park's shuttle system.
For more information on the Going-to-the-Sun Road Corridor Management Plan and Environmental Impact Statement, view the park's scoping newsletter at https://parkplanning.nps.gov/projectHome.cfm?projectID=47660. This is the first phase of the planning effort and additional public comments will be solicited as alternatives are developed.
Public comments are encouraged and may be submitted online at https://parkplanning.nps.gov/glac or by mail to: Glacier National Park, Attn: GTSR Corridor Plan, P.O. Box 128, West Glacier, MT, 59936.
