Walnut Canyon Study – Final Report

FLAGSTAFF, ARIZONA - The National Park Service (NPS), U.S. Forest Service (USFS), Coconino County, and City of Flagstaff partnered to complete a congressionally mandated study to explore management options for a study area of federal (USFS), state, and private lands surrounding Walnut Canyon National Monument. The report describes three viable management options for the study area: continued USFS management; congressional special designation; and congressional restriction on exchange of federal lands. The Final Walnut Canyon Special Study report is available on the following websites:

Walnut Canyon National Monument is located about 7.5 east of Flagstaff. From Interstate 40, take exit 204 and head south. The Visitor Center is located at the end of this 3 mile road.
