Land Exchange Request

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on March 18, 2014. It is reproduced in full below.

Lake Clark National Park and Preserve (LACL) is responding to a request for a land exchange with a privately owned parcel. The parcels being considered for the exchange are along the northwest shore of Lake Clark. The NPS-owned parcel is 28.0 acres in size and the privately owned parcel is 40.0 acres in size. In compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act, NPS is writing an Environmental Assessment (EA) displaying the environmental effects of this proposal. NPS is seeking your comments on this proposal to use in developing issues and alternatives to be analyzed in the EA.

Comments to be considered in development for the EA must be submitted in writing in one of three ways:

* By submitting comments through the NPS PEPC website

* By e-mailing Jeff Shearer, Chief of Natural Resources

* By writing to the following address:

Comments must be received by 5:00 PM on Friday, April 18. 2014.

Additionally, there will be a public meeting on Thursday, April 3rd at 6:00 PM held in Anchorage at the BLM Campbell Creek Science Center, where the public may ask questions and discuss the proposed exchange. Those wishing Lo attend telephonically may dial 866-810-1272 (passcode: 5366629).
