Public Scoping Webinars Planned for Grand Canyon National Park Bison Management Plan EIS

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on April 16, 2014. It is reproduced in full below.

Grand Canyon, Ariz. - Grand Canyon National Park (GCNP) will hold two informational, online meetings as part of the scoping process for a bison management plan and environmental impact statement. The U.S. Forest Service, Arizona Game and Fish Department, and Bureau of Land Management are cooperating agencies in the development of the plan and EIS. The plan will ultimately provide the basis for GCNP's participation in a long-term interagency approach to manage the current and future impacts of bison within GCNP, while supporting goals for a free-ranging bison population on the Kaibab National Forest.

The first informational meeting will be held on May 6, from 4 pm to 6 pm Pacific Time. The second meeting will be held on May 7, from 6 pm to 8 pm Pacific Time. Both meetings will start with a presentation and be followed by a question and answer session.

Space is limited at both Webinars, so individuals are encouraged to reserve a Webinar seat early. Registration Information is as follows:
