A long period southerly swell will continue to build into Wednesday. Swells between 2 to 4 feet at a period of 17 to 18 seconds will be the dominant swell across the waters Wednesday. This large, fast-moving swell will result in an increased threat for rip currents and sneaker waves along most of the beaches at Point Reyes National Seashore, especially, but not limited to, Point Reyes Beach North, Point Reyes Beach South, Kehoe Beach, and McClures Beach.
A beach hazard statement means the potentially dangerous conditions may exist on specific beaches. These hazards may include large shore break, strong rip currents, strong longshore currents, and possible sneaker waves. All of these conditions could be life threatening.
Be sure to always have your eyes on the ocean.
