Bats and White-nose Syndrome Program at Munising Library on August 5

(Munising, MICH.) Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore interpreter Andrea Chynoweth will present a program about bats and white-nose syndrome at the Munising Public Library on Tuesday, August 5, at 1:30 p.m. The library is located at 810 State Highway M-28 West, in the Munising Middle/High School.

White-nose syndrome is a devastating fungal disease that has killed more than seven million bats in the eastern United States since 2006. It was found in Michigan for the first time earlier this year.

The program will focus on why bats are special, why they are important in our lives, and why Michigan bats are in trouble.
