As of Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014 the majority of firefighting resources working on the Enterprise Fire will be released. A fire crew consisting of at least 10
fire fighters will remain in the area to patrol the burned edge daily until they have determined that it can be patrolled every 2-3 days. This second patrol phase will last until there is no longer any smoke visible within the burn.
The Enterprise Fire will continue to produce smoke as scattered pockets of brush, stumps, and downed logs continue to smolder and burn. This is normal and will decrease over time. If you see brush and or trees fully engulfed by active flame within the burned area, please don't hesitate to call the NE Interagency Dispatch Center at 509-685-6900.
Fires are very disruptive and destructive. The fire has left dead trees, cracked bedrock above the shoreline, and hidden hotspots. Falling trees and rocks can happen with little to no warning. For your safety, we request that you stay out of the burned area and at least 100 yards from the burned area even from the water.
Enterprise Boat-in Campground will remain closed until further notice. There is also a shoreline access restriction in place for all unauthorized personnel from a point ¼ mile upstream from Camp Na-Bor-Lee (approximate river mile 52.5 (48o02'36.12N x 118o20'42.89W)) to a point ½ mile upstream of Enterprise Boat-in Campground (approximate river mile 57 (48o02'25.15N x 118o15'41.49W)). This closure includes but is not limited to all shoreline camping, entry by foot, horseback, or other means. The recreational boating closure between RM 52 and RM 58 was lifted Tuesday morning.
