National Park Service Rangers Recover Deceased Diver

Ventura, CA -On Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014, Channel Islands National Park rangers recovered the body of a deceased diver near Frenchys Cove on Anacapa Island.

The deceased male was found by private boaters floating in near proximity to a recreational vessel. The identification of the diver is pending notification of next of kin.

Channel Islands National Park rangers transported the deceased diver to the custody of the Ventura County Medical Examiner. The Ventura County Sheriff's Office, Ventura County Medical Examiner's Office, and the National Park Service are conducting an investigation.
