In accordance with the 2014 Superintendent's Compendium, Superintendent Dan Foster has lifted the ban on camp fires on the exposed lakebed.The ban on campfires in established fire rings in campgrounds and day-use areas throughout Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area was lifted on August 29. These restrictions have been lifted as a result of fire danger levels being lowered by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources in the counties surrounding the lake.
Fires on the shoreline must be 10 feet from vegetation, logs and structures and kept to less than 3 feet in diameter.Fires must be kept above ground and completely extinguished with water, doused and stirred. Rock rings must be deconstructed and refuse removed from beach.
Debris burning, including plastics, cans or other refuse is not allowed anywhere in the recreation area.
