Towpath Restoration at Chesapeake and Ohio Canal

The Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historical Park will be conducting towpath repairs from mile marker 5 (Lock 5) to mile marker 7 (Lock 7). Repairs include fixing eroded towpath areas, as well as resurfacing of the towpath. Work will take place during the hours of 6:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M, Monday through Friday. Visitors can expect delays in this area of up to 15 minutes and are urged to use caution while visiting this area of the park.Repairs are expected to begin Oct. 14, 2014 and take approximately 6 weeks.
