Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia:Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park is advising that the Glen Falls Trail, located on Lookout Mountain, will be closed effective today, Monday, Oct. 20, 2014 and will remain closed until further notice.The trail is adjacent to the recent mud slide that closed Ochs Highway on October 14.
The Glen Falls Trail is located on the east side of Lookout Mountain, and traverses the mountain side north and south for approximately ¾ of a mile starting at Ochs Highway across from the Shingle Trail.Visitors are asked not to park in the pull off on Ochs Highway at the trail head until the mudslide hazard area can be repaired.
