Christmas for the Cravens family was spent away from their home on Lookout Mountain. In fact, not much of their Lookout Mountain dwelling was standing at Christmas. Union soldiers and war correspondents camping on Lookout Mountain had stripped the home of its wood to have tent flooring, firewood, and souvenirs. Visit the Cravens House to learn about some of the experiences that Union and Confederate soldiers and their families were experiencing after the Battles for Chattanooga.
