Delicate Arch / Wolfe Ranch Parking Lot Construction Project to Begin in Arches National Park

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on Feb. 9, 2015. It is reproduced in full below.

Phase one of a construction project to expand capacity at the Delicate Arch/Wolfe Ranch trailhead parking lot is scheduled to begin March 2, 2015 and last through April 2015.

Phase two of the project will take place in June or July over approximately one week and focus on paving and striping of the expanded parking area.

The trailhead will remain open with limited parking Monday through Thursday and be fully open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Expansion of this parking lot is the first step in implementation of planned congestion-management strategies outlined in the Delicate Arch/Wolfe Ranch Site Plan signed by the National Park Service (NPS) Intermountain Regional Director on Nov. 3, 2014. These strategies are intended to more efficiently manage visitor use in the Delicate Arch/Wolfe Ranch trailhead area.

This project is being funded by fees collected at the park's entrance station and campground as authorized by the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act (FLREA).
