Obed Program on the Flood of 1929

The Obed Wild and Scenic River will be having a program on "The Epic Flood of '29" on Saturday, February 28. This ranger-led program will discuss the flood in detail, including how it affected many lives and businesses along the Cumberland Plateau. Participants will walk along some of the areas that saw high-water marks for the flood and will hear some of the terrifying stories and legends from survivor accounts. Participants should meet the ranger at the Nemo day use area at 3 p.m.(EST). No reservations are necessary for this free program, which should conclude by 4 p.m.
