SEARCH UNDERWAY FOR MISSING TEEN AT LAKE MOHAVE

BOULDER CITY, Nevada -National Park Service rangers are searching for a teenage boy who was last seen trying to help another swimmer Lake Mohave near Placer Cove.

Around noon, the Lake Mead National Recreation Area Interagency Communication Center received a call from a witness who stated that the teen had jumped off a cliff to help another swimmer below. Several witnesses said the other swimmer made it to safety, but the teenage boy went underwater.

The cliff is approximately 20-feet high, and the water below is around 65 feet deep.

National Park Service rangers responded to the scene and are searching the area by land, water and air. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Search and Rescue Dive Team is en route to assist with the search.

The incident is under investigation.
