The last time the Oregon Inlet Public Boat Ramps received an upgrade was in 1989.After many years of extensive use, and weathering many storms, the ramps were in poor condition.The National Park Service is proud to announce a major renovation has been completed to the five public ramps and the
facility is now open to the general boating public.
The National Park Service contracted with Murphy Environmental & Land Management, LLC to redesign and build five new non-slip ramps, five new finger piers and one ADA accessible floating dock. Construction began in January 2015 utilizing a two phase approach in order to ensure partial use for the visiting public of the facility during construction.First the de-watering and construction of the floating dock and piers was accomplished on three ramps.Then the concrete ramps were poured and grooved to create a safer area for foot and vehicular traffic.In the second phase, the same procedure occurred to the remaining two ramps.
The project was completed in time for many enjoyable boating and sport fishing days
throughout the summer and fall for the visiting public.
