Credentialing Procedures for Flight 93 National Memorial

Visitor Center Dedication and

Anniversary Memorial Service

~ Media Credentialing Form Due By August 28 ~

WHAT:

Flight 93 Visitor Center Dedication

The dedication of the permanent visitor center of the Flight 93 National Memorial will take place on

Thursday, September 10 at 10 a.m. and will last for approximately one hour.

(Note -a separate advisory will be forthcoming regarding a media preview tour of the visitor center,

scheduled for Wednesday, September 9 at 2 p.m.)

September 11th Observance

The September 11th observance will start at 9:45 a.m. on Friday, September 11.This start time was

chosen to commemorate the time period during which the passengers and crew took action on the

plane to thwart the terrorists. NBC News correspondent Jim Miklaszewski will be the principal speaker.

WHEN:

Visitor Center Dedication - Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015

Media Set-up Begins: 7 a.m.

Ceremony Begins:10 a.m.

September 11th Observance - Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2015

Media Set-up Begins: 7:00 a.m.

Ceremony Begins:9:45 a.m.

(Outlets with live broadcasts the morning of September 10 and 11 will have access earlier than

7 a.m.;details will follow in future advisories).

MEDIA CREDENTIALS:

Event credentials issued by the National Park Service are required to obtain access to any of the designated media areas, including parking and coverage areas for the ceremonies. Credentialed members of the media interested in covering the event must RSVP HERE by August 28 at 6 pm EDT.

Additional information regarding media credentialing pick-up and other important coverage details will be sent in future technical advisories.

Please note - event credentials are required for both the visitor center dedication ceremony on September 10 and the anniversary observance on September 11.
