Overnight Facilities Close Temporarily at Grant Grove in Kings Canyon National Park

Starting at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 21, until further notice, the John Muir Lodge, Grant Grove Cabins, and all campgrounds will be temporarily closed in the Grant Grove area of Kings Canyon National Park. This action is due to ongoing Rough Fire activity. Park staff continues to work closely with the Rough Fire Incident Management Team to monitor fire activity.

The Grant Grove area of Kings Canyon National Park is still open. The public may still access other facilities, including the General Grant Tree, restaurant, market, and gift shop. There are moderate to heavy smoke impacts at times impacting vistas.
