Gettysburg Announces Licensed Battlefield Guide Exam Date and Revised Licensing Process
Gettysburg National Military Park has announced the date of the Licensed Battlefield Guide written exam and newly designed Licensed Battlefield Guide examination process. The written exam, the first part of an intense four-tiered process, will be given on December 5, 2015 at the Gettysburg Campus of Harrisburg Area Community College from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
This new examination process consists of four unique parts: the written exam, the panel interview, the mandatory orientation and information session, and the oral exam. Candidates must pass each tier in succession to become a Licensed Battlefield Guide.

A limited number of hard copies of the examination process will be available at the National Park Service information desk located in the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center. This new multi-tiered process continues a tradition of vigorous Licensed Battlefield Guide examinations and upholds a century of excellence in guiding on the Gettysburg battlefield.
