Capsized Vessel in Tomales Bay - One deceased, one missing

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on Oct. 26, 2015. It is reproduced in full below.

At approximately 9 am today, a boat in distress call was put out by a vessel near the mouth of Tomales Bay. The National Park Service, US Coast Guard (USCG), Marin County Sheriff's Office, Marin County Fire, California Highway Patrol, and Bodega Bay Fire were notified/involved in a rescue operation. The report was that the three men on board had gone in the water. One body was recovered shortly thereafter, but the individual was already deceased. A second victim remains missing while the third victim is safe after being rescued by USCG helicopter. There is no indication yet as to the cause of the three individuals ending up in the water.

The search continues for the missing individual. No further information is available at this time. The National Park Service is leading the investigation and working with the Marin County Coroner's Office to identify the body and notify family.
