Effective immediately, all previously issued fire bans are lifted within Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area.Campfires are now allowed on the exposed lakebed, below the high water mark of 1290' elevation.All campfires within developed areas must be contained within NPS provided fire receptacles.
Please remember that regulations require your campfire to be less than three feet in diameter.Lakebed fires must be above ground and at least ten feet from the nearest beach logs, structure (i.e., tent), or vegetation.
Fires must be attended at all times and completely extinguished with water, not sand, before you go to bed or leave your campsite. Rock rings must be deconstructed.Please do not burn household debris, including plastics and cans. In addition, regulations prohibit the burning of chemically treated wood, painted wood, and wood with nails or staples. These regulations exist to help protect the natural and cultural resources of the park and to ensure the safety of park visitors.
