Ranger Programs: Energy Innovation at the Park, Jan 30
The Lake Mead Institute will host an Energy Innovation Day at the Lake Mead Visitor Center Jan. 30. Join rangers and local experts 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for family-friendly programs and art activities focused on ever-changing energy needs. Half Marathon: Saints and Sinners, Feb 20
Around 1,100 athletes will be participating in the Saints and Sinners Half Marathon Feb. 20. The race includes a half marathon, relay and fun run along Historic Railroad Trail and Boulder Beach. For more information on this permitted event, visit http://saintsandsinnershalf.com/

Volunteer Program: Sahara Mustard Pull, Feb 27
Volunteers are needed to help preserve rare and endangered plant species at Lake Mead by removing invasive plants that threaten native species from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 27. Join a ranger to learn about Sahara Mustard and how it impacts plant ecosystems. Volunteers will travel by boat to a selected cove to help remove this noxious plant. Volunteers must be able to bend, stoop and kneel while pulling Sahara Mustard. Space is limited to 12 people.
