Emergency Closure near Motherlode Mine

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on March 28, 2016. It is reproduced in full below.

Copper Center, Alaska - Avalanche control mitigation will be occurring on private land in the vicinity of the Mother Lode Mine. This effort has the potential to affect adjacent park lands and may result in unstable snow conditions that could be hazardous to visitors. Title 36 CFR 1.5, 13.25 and 13.50 authorizes the superintendent to temporarily close an area in order to protect park resources and public safety.

Effective Monday, March 28, 2016 through Saturday, April 2, 2016 all public land depicted within the closure area on the attached map is closed to all use.
