Ranger Guided Battlefield Hikes

Frederick, MD - Walk in the footsteps of Civil War soldiers who fought at the Battle of Monocacy. On May 14, rangers will conduct a series of free hikes throughout the battlefield highlighting the tactics and troop movements of the "Battle that Saved Washington," which occurred on July 9, 1864. Each hike covers a distance of less than two miles. Allow approximately two hours for each hike.

Please meet at the Visitor Center prior to driving to the following locations for the hike:

* 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. - Junction Trail

* 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. - Worthington Farm (Stop #3)

* 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. - Thomas Farm (Stop #4)

** Rain or shine **

** Please dress for the outdoors including bug spray and sunscreen **
