The staff at Hopewell Culture National Historical Park invites teachers to join us this summer for a week in the park learning about Archeology and related activities that can be applied to classroom learning. Training will take place at the Mound City Group unit of Hopewell Culture National Historical Park, June 6-10, 2016, 8:30am-4:00pm. The workshop is free of charge and will include:
* Discussions with park archeology and education staff focused on Ohio's Native American heritage, archeology basics, and activities for teaching the past
* Hands on archeology, including excavation and mapping
* Tours of local archeology sites
* Free teaching materials

* Workshop open to school teachers of all grades
* Cost is free
* No lodging available
* Certificate for 35 contact hours from Ohio University-Chillicothe awarded at workshop
* Graduate credit available
* Workshop is limited to 20 participants
