Springdale, UT- The Zion National Park trail crew will be repairing retaining walls on the Hidden Canyon Trail this summer beginning June 6, 2016. The Hidden Canyon Trail is expected to reopen Sept. 1, 2016.

Zion's Hidden Canyon Trail, first built in 1928, allows visitors to reach a "hanging canyon" between Cable Mountain and The Great White Throne. Over the years, several retaining walls have been damaged by both flash floods and natural seeps.

This project is funded by the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act Funding Program, which uses funds collected from the park entrance and use fees to complete park maintenance projects, and public service programs.
