San Francisco - The United States Postal Service and San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park will launch a new Forever Stamp featuring the square-rigger Balclutha at a first-day-of-issue event on Hyde Street Pier at 11am on Thursday, June 2, 2016. The ceremony will include Deborah Woodrum, USPS San Francisco District Manager, Kevin Hendricks, Superintendent, San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park, and Tim Campbell, the photographer who captured the stamp’s image.
The San Francisco event is part of a nationwide first-day-of-issue ceremony for the National Parks Forever Stamps pane anchored at New York City’s Javits Center as part of World Stamp Show-NY 2016. Dedication ceremonies are scheduled at or near each of the National Parks depicted on the stamps.
"The Centennial Forever stamps are a fantastic way to recognize and promote the National Park Service Centennial, and we feel extremely honored to be one of the 16 parks chosen," said Superintendent Hendricks.
