Carl Hayden Visitor Center Exhibit Renovation Begins

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on Aug. 1, 2016. It is reproduced in full below.

The exhibit area at the Carl Hayden Visitor Center will be closed for renovation. The National Park Service and Bureau of Reclamation are collaborating to create brand new exhibits which will be installed later this year.

All other services in the visitor center will remain available with minimal interruptions. Glen Canyon Dam tours, visitor information services, public restrooms, films in the auditorium, and the Glen Canyon Natural History Association store will remain open to the extent possible.

"We look forward to unveiling new exhibits later this year" said Glen Canyon National Recreation Area Superintendent Billy Shott. "Exhibits will tell the stories of Glen Canyon Natural Recreation Area and the Glen Canyon Dam in a modern and compelling way."

Exhibits are being fabricated by Pacific Studios of Seattle, Washington.
