Keystone, South Dakota - Beginning Sunday Aug. 14, 2016, the following changes will occur in the hours of operation, the Evening Lighting Ceremony at Mount Rushmore will transition to an earlier start time of 8:00 p.m. The final Evening Lighting Ceremony for the season will be October 1. The Lincoln Borglum Visitor Center, bookstore and museum as well as the Information Center's closing time will change to 9:00 p.m.
August 14 the daily closing time for the Carvers Café and the Memorial Team Ice Cream Shop will change to 8:00 p.m. The Xanterra Gift Shop will change to a 9:30 p.m. close. Opening hours for all operations remain the same.
The Sculptor's Studio will be open 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. through August 27; beginning August 28 hours will be 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The studio will be closed September 30 for inventory and reopen October 1 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.through October 9 weather permitting.
Closing day for the Lakota, Nakota and Dakota Heritage Village and the Youth Exploration Area is Saturday August 13.
