Liberty State Park Security Screening Facility Closed Until Further Notice

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on Jan. 17, 2017. It is reproduced in full below.

The Security Screening Facility for the Statue of Liberty National Monument and Ellis Island located in Liberty State Park, Jersey City, is closed until further notice due to structural concerns. Visitors are strongly encouraged to use the Battery Park ferry departure location.

Statue Cruises will honor tickets for those arriving today in Liberty State Park via ferry service departing from Liberty Landing Marina to the World Financial Center in Manhattan where they will proceed to the Battery Park for security screening. Ferries will return New Jersey passengers to Liberty State Park.

The Liberty Landing Marina is located directly across from the ferry parking lot in Liberty State Park and the World Financial Center located north of the Battery. We strongly suggest that New Jersey ticket holders go directly to Battery Park to pick up their tickets and board the ferry there.

We will update our website with additional information as it develops.
