The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on March 21, 2017. It is reproduced in full below.

INDIANA DUNES NATIONAL LAKESHORE: Join staff and fellow volunteers for an afternoon of stewardship at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore on Friday, March 31, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. We will be cleaning up Lazerwitz Dunes, a little known piece of the National Lakeshore, which was donated by the Shirley Heinze Land Trust in 1984. Wear comfortable work clothes; work gloves and equipment will be provided.

Lazerwitz Dune is located just to the west of national lakeshore’s West Beach area, on County Line Road. Volunteers can park at St. Barnabas Church, 601 Pottawatomie Trail in Gary.
