National Park Service Rangers Respond to Report of Fatality Near Ramp 34 in Avon, North Carolina

At approximately 2:00 am on Monday, April 10, National Park Service Law Enforcement Rangers responded to a report of an unresponsive male near Ramp 34 in Avon, North Carolina. Upon arrival on the beach, Rangers discovered a deceased male appearing to be in his mid-thirties. The victim is not believed to be from the local area.

Law enforcement officials are investigating this tragic event. Additional details will be released once they become available.
