Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks Announce Two Public Meetings on 2018 Commercial Use Permitting Season

SEQUOIA AND KINGS CANYON NATIONAL PARKS, Calif. May 9, 2017 - The Parks will hold two public information meetings to discuss the implementation of Commercial Service Day (CSD) allocations for commercial operations in wilderness under the direction of the Wilderness Stewardship Plan / Final Environmental Impact Statement (WSP/FEIS) signed May 27, 2015.

The WSP/FEIS and Appendix B: Extent Necessary Determination established the extent to which commercial services are necessary and allowable in the parks’ wilderness areas. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss how the established CSD allocations will be implemented in the 2018 CUA permitting season.

When: May 22, 2017: 2-4 PM

Where: Sequoia National Park, Ash Mountain Recreation Hall, 46725 Sycamore Drive, Three Rivers CA 93271

The meeting format will be open house, with an opportunity for the public to provide comments directly to the project team members. Following the presentation, project staff will be on hand to answer questions.
